When you login to CP Pay, the activity log shows the CP Pay Transaction ID and the Merchant Code. The Merchant Code is the identifier to look up transactions in the gateway.
- CP Pay transaction ID – a unique identifier for CP Pay
- Merchant Code – This is the trace ID, plus the authorization code
For example, if you look up a transaction and see the following Merchant Code: e677f5b8-1ebd-4ee4-b2b9-dfd0bee01d82*31976594
e677f5b8-1ebd-4ee4-b2b9-dfd0bee01d82 is the Trace ID and 31976594 is the authorization code. You can use the trace ID to look up payments in Forte.
You can drill into the payment to confirm the authorization number.
